Non-fiction books made easy.

There's so many books out there and so little time to read them. With Blinkist you can read them fast and on the go. One book will take you 15 minutes instead of 10 hours. In this project I created the complete new look for Blinkist 2.0, style guide including colours, logo, iconography. The user experience I created together with Kimmy Bolke. Focus was on customer discovery by interviewing, giving surveys and usability tests with rapid prototyping. It is crucial to validate assumptions when pursuing a business, or a just a design for that matter.

Read more. Anytime, Anywhere.

Responsive design is essential. The objective of the design elements and the user interface has been to create an intuitive and inviting platform for frequent use by customers.

The website.

Besides the main platforms for iPad and iPhone devices, I created the Blinkist landing page which has been build with responsive design and integrated functions to support user orientation.

Reserved - Launch Berlin

Major fashion holding LPP launched its Brand Reserved in Germany, with a special event night at Berlin Fashion Week. Hosted at the historical Alte Münze factory building in Berlin Mitte, the event featured a fashion show with top model Georgia May Jagger.

More than 1,200 fashion show guests attended the launch party and experienced the show as well as a setup of several interactive installations incl. large-scale video projections.

Interactive_instagram_screen

Interaction 01 Intuitive interfaces focus on the direct involvement of each user: LED strips running along the wall to the bar when photos are send to the projection. They will be activated with chasing animations towards the projection which attracts people's attention to the ceiling where a more elaborate projection is going to take place. The general feel of the installation is of particles flowing to the centre of the back wall where an image of the user briefly fades in-and-out when sending photos. The branding of Reserved emerges across the screen when users are not interacting with the photo stations.

Step 01 The iPad/tablet will display instructions to the user about loading a particular url on their phone, which will allow their phone to be used as remote control for the camera capture.

Step 02 When a user is detected at the station, the strips will flash a bright white. The objective is to communicate and to engage in an interactive way with the user.

Step 03 Once a photo is taken, the user can choose to save the image to their phones, and/or send the photo to be displayed on the projection area above the bar.

Entrance

Interaction 02 The tunnel entrance to the event had LED light animations running through, reacting to users walking past (i.e. following the user along the wall or ceiling as they walk through).

Interaction 03 Three interactive projections had been installed on the white walls in the atrium, feed with videos from the photo shoot of the range. When users walk past, their movement affected the animations. This set-up has made a massive impression on the audience enhancing the brand awareness on-site.

The Montblanc timepieces tool was designed as an essential resource for watch enthusiasts and collectors alike, enabling them to discover the inner workings of Montblanc's finest movements, the tapestry of stories behind the making of these masterpieces and features an exclusive look at one of the most anticipated new Montblanc timepieces. The app from the watch company also puts strong focus on biography in order to make it an essential resource for every fan or collector. When hired by AKQA, I had been engaged with the design throughout all pages of the application. This includes the visual set-up & refinement of the landing pages, a remastering of digital content as well as the development of an interactive 3D tool to experience the look-and-feel of Montblanc watches.

Exploration page

Content pages dedicated to the individual type of Montblanc watches have been created to create customer awareness about the product.

Experience page

In-app functionalities focused on the experience of each watch, including visuals, size, technical parameters and personal fit.

dm family program

dm is a large corporate of retail stores that sells cosmetics, healthcare and household products, and health food. The company has a large customer base focusing on young families to guide them throughout the development stages of their kids from pregnancy to pre-puberty. The club offers parents product and event recommendations wrapped in a box delivered on a monthly basis. The homepage of dm, as the key interface to communicate with the club subscribers, required a relaunch to become more intuitive and attractive in terms of personalized content. Hired by Weitclick media agency, I developed a clearer language for the dm portal explaining the benefits of the family initiative. The objective had been to make the site more playful, interactive and easier to understand. According to your profile, the site adapts to your child’s needs and provide content in accordance to the development stage.

Log-in page

The landing page is the first point-of-contact with the potential targets from dm family with an introduction about the program and an understandable step-by-step sign-up guide.

Article page

With an editorial feel, subscribers can discover the topics relevant for their personal user profile - from pregnancy to pre-puberty - in an exploratory way.

Second Screen Application

Second screen provide an enhanced viewing experience for content on another device. The objective is to provide interactive features during media entertainment served within a special app. Hired by Moccu media agency, I created two fully pilot-ready examples for demonstrating the potential with a second screen application integrated in media content from ProSieben, a European TV channel. The two online examples I have been engaged with comprise an application for a top-model and live football show in TV, frequently watched by more than 3m unique visitors.

Top-model

The top model show application required expertise in concepting, user experience as well as design. The app is based on different widgets that update live during the actual broadcasting in TV. Concept examples include dedicated eCommerce activities, tutorials as well live-decisions about the outcome of the show.

Live football

The live football application works in the same way as described for the top model show sample. The difference is that you can interact with direct peers, watch 3D recaps from the match and customize game statistics in accordance to your interest.

How can Sainsbury's inspire their customer to
open up their culinary world?

8178538711_35b0f8fc21_h.jpg

Step 1

Imagine that you are walking into a store and have to make dinner for the evening. You have absolutely no clue on what to prepare and you feel uninspired. Inside the store you are suddenly being prompted to try something new today by activating your bluetooth or scan a QR code enabled flyers.

Step 2

Doing so will redirect you to downloading the Sainsbury's mobile app. Get ready to explore the store where every product is a potential entry point to a something new.

Step 5

Watch it closer as video content from e.g Jamie Oliver preparing the recipe.

Step 3

Holding the phone upright shrinks the play window, allowing the viewer to access in-app chat without missing out on the action.

Step 6

When at home. You can also take advantage of your remaining groceries in your kitchen to explore even more recipes

Step 4

Doing so will get you a unique package deal and tells you what you need to get additionally for completing your recipe.

Step 7

Connect to the internet and watch how your recipe was made again in high resolution from your tablet or laptop.

When discovering and purchasing new products at Sainsbury's, people are rewarded - not with unnecessary badges and bragging rights, but actually with real offers and hidden inspiring content.
